Background

Intellect is a mental health platform offering accessible and personalized mental health services worldwide. With a presence across various countries, the agency seeks to empower individuals with tools to enhance their well-being.

Intellect sought a website redesign to elevate its global positioning, enhance messaging for buyers, and align with updated branding. The revamped site was launched to highlight the company’s end-to-end mental health solutions for individuals and organizations, with a target live date of January 1, 2025.

🔎 Problem Statement

The existing marketing website for Intellect lacked a clear user journey and cohesive visual storytelling, making it difficult for users to understand the full range of services offered. Navigation was unintuitive, and the design did not effectively convey the brand's mission and global impact.

Common questions from stakeholders include:

  • What do you offer?

  • Where is your presence?

  • How are you different from competitors?

💡 Our Objective

To design a user-centric marketing website for Intellect that:

  1. Clearly communicates the brand's mission, services, and global impact.

  2. Simplifies navigation and enhances usability.

  3. Integrates modern and visually appealing design elements to elevate user engagement.

Design Process

The design process followed several essential phases: user research, ideation, prototyping, and testing. Throughout the project, I collaborated closely with a graphic designer and an engineer, consistently integrating feedback at each stage. This iterative approach allowed us to create a design that effectively addressed user needs while meeting business objectives.

For this iteration, we concentrated on designing three key components of the website:

  1. Homepage

  2. Navigation Bar and Footer

  3. Three Core Product Pages

1. User Research & Pain Points

Through user interviews, SWOT analysis, and competitive analysis, I aimed to understand competitors’ strategies & identify best practices to learn from successful elements, along with Improving Intellect’s website to reach a larger audience, increase retention, and enhance readability.

I identified 3 key pain points:

  • Users struggled to navigate the website and locate information about specific services (lack of user journey).

  • The visual design felt outdated and did not reflect the platform’s innovative approach to mental health.

  • Limited clarity on the global reach and personalized nature of services.

2. Ideation & Sketching

Based on the research findings, I developed initial sketches and brainstormed solutions to address user pain points. Key ideas included:

  • A streamlined navigation bar to simplify access to core services.

  • Highlighting the agency's global impact through a map visualization.

  • Enhancing storytelling and implementing a clear user journey through visual and textual elements that resonate with diverse audiences.

    • Include more brand emojis throughout pages for a unique design

3. Prototyping & Wireframes

I created low-fidelity wireframes to outline the website’s structure and user flow. These wireframes were refined into mid-fidelity, then high-fidelity prototypes with detailed design elements, incorporating feedback from stakeholders, including the graphic designer and engineer.

4. User Testing & Feedback

We conducted usability testing within the marketing team to validate the prototypes. Feedback led to several iterations such as:

  • Adjustments to the navigation bar for improved clarity.

  • Enhanced visual hierarchy to guide users through the website.

  • Simplified content to improve accessibility and readability.

Key Features of the Redesign

  • Intuitive Navigation: A streamlined navigation bar with clear categories for services, resources, and contact information.

  • Global Map Visualization: Showcases the countries where Intellect operates, emphasizing its international presence.

  • Enhanced Storytelling: Visually engaging content that communicates the brand’s mission and services.

  • Mobile Responsiveness: A fully responsive design ensuring a seamless experience across devices.

Personal Takeaways

This project taught me the value of collaboration and adaptability in the design process. By continuously iterating based on feedback from the graphic designer, engineer, and marketing team, I was able to create a design that met both user needs and business objectives. Additionally, this experience reinforced the importance of balancing creativity with functionality in UI/UX design.
